Divine Psychology® respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly, securely and in accordance with applicable South African privacy legislation, including the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”). By using our website, completing an assessment, submitting an enquiry, making a booking, purchasing a service or voluntarily providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Who We Are
Divine Psychology® is an integrative psychospiritual practice offering psychology- and coaching-informed reflection, personal development and complementary spiritual practices. Our services are intended for self-reflection, personal development and wellbeing. They are not psychotherapy, medical treatment, psychiatric treatment or psychological diagnosis.

Depending on how you interact with Divine Psychology, we may collect information such as:

For example, clients or prospective clients may choose to discuss personal experiences, relationships, family circumstances, emotional wellbeing, beliefs or health-related experiences. Certain categories of information may constitute special personal information under POPIA and require additional protection. POPIA specifically regulates the processing of categories including health information.Where such information is provided, Divine Psychology will treat it confidentially and will only process it where there is an appropriate lawful basis and where it is relevant to the service or interaction concerned. Assessments
Divine Psychology may provide online assessments. When you complete an assessment, we may process: your responses to assessment questions; information or reflections you voluntarily enter; calculated assessment results; and contact information you choose to provide. Assessment results are generated using predetermined scoring or interpretive rules. They are designed for self-reflection and personal development only. They do not constitute psychological assessment, psychological diagnosis, medical diagnosis, psychotherapy or medical advice.
Why We Process Your Information
We may process personal information where reasonably necessary to: provide services you have requested; process and manage bookings; respond to enquiries; provide assessment results; communicate with you regarding your appointments or services; administer programmes and client relationships; process payments and maintain transaction records; improve our website and services; maintain appropriate business and legal records; protect our legitimate business interests; comply with applicable laws; and send promotional or marketing communications where legally permitted or where you have provided the appropriate consent. We will not use personal information for an unrelated purpose without an appropriate lawful basis.
WhatsApp and Electronic Communications
If you provide your mobile number or contact Divine Psychology through WhatsApp, we may use WhatsApp to communicate with you regarding your enquiry, assessment, booking or services. Where you specifically consent to receiving marketing or promotional communication through WhatsApp, email or another electronic channel, we may also use those channels for that purpose. You may withdraw your marketing consent or request that promotional communication stop at any time. Transactional or service-related communications may still be sent where necessary to administer a booking or service you have requested.
Payments
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Yoco, PayPal or other payment providers made available through our website or booking systems. Divine Psychology does not ordinarily receive or store your complete card details when payment is processed directly by an external payment provider. The relevant payment provider processes payment information according to its own privacy and security practices. We may retain information confirming the transaction, such as your name, payment amount, date, service purchased and payment status, for administration, accounting and legal purposes.
Third-Party Service Providers
Divine Psychology uses third-party technology providers to operate its website and services. These may include providers used for: website hosting and functionality; online forms and assessments; booking and scheduling; payment processing; communication and messaging; video or online sessions; analytics; email communication; and business administration. These providers may process certain personal information on our behalf or independently under their own terms and privacy policies. Our current technology environment may include services provided by Wix, Jotform, WhatsApp/Meta, Yoco, PayPal, Microsoft and other providers selected from time to time. We endeavour to use reputable service providers and to limit information shared with them to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant service.
Information Processed Outside South Africa
Some of the technology platforms used by Divine Psychology operate internationally. As a result, personal information may in certain circumstances be stored or processed outside South Africa. POPIA regulates transfers of personal information outside South Africa and provides several lawful mechanisms for such transfers, including adequate protection, consent and transfers necessary for certain contractual purposes. Where applicable, Divine Psychology will take reasonable steps to ensure that cross-border processing is undertaken in accordance with POPIA.

How Long We Keep Information
Personal information will not be retained for longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless retention is required or permitted by law, is reasonably necessary for legitimate business or record-keeping purposes, or is required for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal claim. Different categories of information may therefore have different retention periods. Where information is no longer required, we may delete, destroy or de-identify it where reasonably practicable and legally appropriate.
Your Rights Under POPIA
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to: request confirmation of whether Divine Psychology holds personal information about you; request access to personal information held about you; request correction of inaccurate or outdated information; request deletion or destruction of information where legally applicable; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; object to direct marketing; and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. Where Divine Psychology knowingly provides a service to a minor, appropriate consent will be obtained where required. Children should not submit personal or sensitive information through the website or assessments without the involvement of a parent, guardian or other competent person where required by law.
Direct Marketing
Divine Psychology may occasionally provide information about programmes, services, events, assessments or other offerings.
